Eriksfiord is proud to be part of the Northern Lights project, a Norwegian Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project. The project is a result of the Norwegian government’s ambition to develop a full-scale CCS value chain in Norway by 2024. This CCS demonstration project shall stimulate necessary development of CCS so that long-term climate targets in Norway and EU can be reached at a lowest possible cost. Northern Lights will help achieving EU’s proposal for the 2030 climate and energy policy framework, which recognises the role of CCS in reaching the EU’s long-term emissions reduction goal..
